The Seasoned MJHL Veteran:
La Salle, Manitoba's Marek Miller is shades of Edmonton's Connor McJesus - MJHL style - to start the season.
With a 2.20 points per game average, the 20-year-old left winger is on pace for a projected 127-point season should he remain healthy & keep his stats steady.
The chemistry in this year’s version of the Steinbach Pistons is quite evident, suggesting the addition of Lyndon Lamb, Rohan Guervarra, and Griffon Krone - plus a dedicated offseason to personal growth - have helped Miller's success so far.
Although filling the shoes of Manitoba Junior legends - Mike Ridley (191 pts) & Bobby Clark (183 pts) is an unlikely feat - the game has changed over the decades - and a 2.00+ points per game average in modern-day hockey is extremely impressive.
From any hockey fan's perspective, you'd hope he maintains this momentum - as it has been 10 seasons since a player in the MJHL has cracked the 100-point mark.
The reference to McJesus - it’s playful hockey reverence - a nuance to exaggerate a player like Connor McDavid's unreal performance so far this season.
