The Manitoba Moose are off to an amazing start, going 5-1-0 in their first 6 games played.
The Herd have a 0.833 Win % - with an impressive 29 goals for, and only 13 goals against.
This is largely in part to the deep drafting system, and acquisition of key pieces by the Winnipeg Jets organization.
The Moose swept the Texas Stars in back-back games at the Canada Life Centre this weekend - taking today's game 4-3 in overtime against Dallas’ AHL affiliate.
Colby Barlow would tie the game at 1-1, assisted by Kevin He and Jacob Julien.
Nikita Chibrikov would then give the Moose the lead, scoring his first of 2 goals this afternoon.
Enter the conversation Brayden Yager.
With the game headed to OT, Yager buried his 5th of the early season - giving the Moose a 4-3 victory.
Yager 9 points & Chibrikov 9 points lead the Moose in scoring.
Noah Gregor, Lucas Wahlin, Colby Barlow, Kevin He, Danny Zhilkin, Parker Ford, Jacob Julien, and Henry Thrun round out the top 10.
Any of these names familiar?
Needless to say there is much hope in a young core of potential future NHL’ers in the Jets organization.
Obviously we can’t discount the solid efforts of netminders Dominic DiVincentiis & Thomas Milic.
The Herd should be heard by Winnipeg hockey fans. So far it has been a splendid season for the antler guys.
